Sarah Ashford

I'm Sarah and welcome to my online studio. I'm really happy you've found my page!  I've been stitching since I was six years old, and quilting is my passion.

I'm so fortunate for quilting to be my day job; I design and make quilts for a range of publications, including Love Patchwork and Quilting, Quilt Now Magazine, and I also work closely with British fabric companies, including Dashwood Studio, Oakshott Fabrics and Hantex. When I'm not making quilts I'm writing about them! I've contributed to Curated Quilts, The Quilter Magazine, Modern Sewing Starts Here and the Modern Quilt Guild resources page. I'm currently the MQG book club leader, reviewing quilting books which is fun!

I'm also proud to work for The Quilter's Planner; a hardcover planner and diary, designed specifically for quilters. Along with Kitty Wilkin (www.nightquilter.com) we run the Quilter's Planner Instagram account, (@thequiltersplanner) and I also contribute to the content and marketing of the accompanying magazine. This role gives me such joy, as it allows me to work with wonderful creatives and spread the love of quilting even further.

I'm the founder of the Great British Quilter Instagram challenge, and and along with Charlie Mankin (www.sydneyrosedesigns.com) we have our Great British Quilter Aurfil Collection. Visit the GB Quilter page to learn more about it. I have so many more plans in the pipeline for the GBQ and I can't wait to share them with you soon.

And if I'm not busy enough, I also make and sell project pouches; a stylish and practical way to store your WIP's and projects.  They come in A3 and A4 sizes, feature super glittery vinyl and can be customised with your own wording or logo. Do check out my Esty shop or message me directly to purchase.

I love to share my work on Instagram, @sarahashfordstudio where I have great fun meeting and connecting with the wonderful online quilting community. I have a 'Sunday Review' post each week, discussing the latest fabric lines, patterns, books and accessories. You can find all of these posts under the hashtag #sarahssundayreview. Do follow me over there and I can look at your work too :- )

I'm so happy that I get to live my very best creative life!
